Description: FireFit is the Fire Fighters' sport, centered around the Combat Challenge, which is the universally accepted fitness test for Fire Fighters. In this timed competition, Fire Fighters ascend four flights of stairs, raise a heavy load by rope, descend the stairs and then simulate a forcible building entry with sledgehammer. Then they drag a charged hose line, spray a target, and finish by dragging a heavy mannequin to the finish line. Competition is fierce and Fire Fighters train year round to get ready!
Competitors: 120-150 Fire Fighters from across BC and Yukon
Location: 200 West 1st avenue, Vancouver BC: Cambie Street Yards overlooking False Creek, BC Place, and two blocks from the Olympic Village.
