Bringing Joy to Kids in Need
What began as local firefighters fixing broken toys to be given to kids in need over the holidays, has turned into one of Vancouver Firefighter Charities largest giving programs. Today, Toys for Kids’ mission is simple: to bring joy to kids in need by providing toys and sporting goods during the holiday season.
The rising cost of living is putting immense pressure on families in Vancouver, with the winter holiday season adding even more financial stress. By delivering thousands of gifts to families in need, Toys For Kids helps ease that burden, provides some holiday joy and reminds children that they live in a community that cares about them.

Community Coming Together For Kids
The impact of Toys For Kids demonstrates the power of a community united for a shared cause. The generosity of people donating at our major toy drives reflects the spirit of giving. The community impact is then magnified by the Lloyd and Elsie Campbell Foundation, whose generous contribution of over $90,000 last year helped us reach more families than ever.
London Drugs also plays a vital role by providing prime venues for our toy drives and offering a generous discount on toy purchases, ensuring we can bring even more holiday joy to children in need.
Program Overview
Targeted Support To Local Families In Need
While many of the toys we collect goes to the amazing Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau, Toys for Kids has made a commitment to focus more of our support to families in need in Vancouver. By working hand-in-hand with the Vancouver School Board we are able to identify families in Vancouver who could use extra support over the holidays.
Teachers help select age-appropriate gifts, Vancouver Firefighters purchase and wrap them, and then personally deliver them to the schools. Last year, through this direct pathway, we were able to give more than 1,300 gifts to Vancouver families!
