A group of remarkable children, ages 6 to 8, recently came together with one goal in mind: to make a positive difference in their community. All four boys are talented piano players, so they chose to use their musical gifts as a force for good by hosting a fundraising concert. They sold tickets for $10.00 each and encouraged guests to donate more if they were able.
In the weeks leading up to the event, Allan, Jacob, Bowen and Arcas dedicated their free time to collecting bottles to help increase their total fundraising amount.
VFC Executive Director, Eric Himmelman, had the privilege of attending the concert, thanking the boys in person, and witnessing their impressive performances. “All of these young boys should be incredibly proud of themselves for lending their skills to support something important,” says Himmelman. “Seeing children this young work together to create positive change, was truly inspiring.”
Together, these four young change-makers raised a total of $886 for the Vancouver Firefighter Charities. We are deeply grateful for their hard work, kindness, and compassion. Their efforts are a reminder that the future is bright with such thoughtful, caring young people leading the way. Thank you Bowen Wang, Arcas Zhang, Allan Haoyang Liu, Jacob Haorui Jia!
