The History Of Vancouver Firefighter Charities
Giving back has been a firefighter tradition since the Great Depression. Vancouver Firefighters proudly carry on this legacy, donating both our time and money to support causes close to our hearts.
1998
Vancouver Fire Fighters’ Charitable Society Is Created
The Vancouver Fire Fighters’ Charitable Society was officially incorporated in 1998, creating a way for our firefighters to dedicate funds they have raised to important local causes like the BC Professional Firefighter’s Burn Fund.
2012
Payroll Donation Program Created
To future-proof the VFC and ensure long-term financial stability, Vancouver Firefighters established the Payroll Donation Program, allowing members to voluntarily donate a portion of their pay to support our initiatives. Today, it serves as the financial cornerstone of our organization and has generated over $1.25 million to help fund our community-based programs.
