Vancouver Firefighters Show Support For Lapu Lapu Victims

Vancouver Firefighters Joseph Malabuyoc, Usher Odhner, and Jari Orellana came together to create a meaningful way to show that those affected by the tragic events at the Lapu Lapu Festival remain forever in our hearts.

The t-shirt, designed with Filipino Indigenous Tribal motifs and the Philippine flag, is intended to serve as a  symbol of solidarity, showing our community that we will never forget the events of that day and will continue working toward healing together.

The shirts were sold internally within the department, with 100% of proceeds donated to the United Way BC Kapwa Strong Fund. In total $10,000 was raised for the fund, which provides support for counseling, trauma services, and other critical resources that work to help the community recover and build resilience.
