The VFC’s Sports For Kids program has proudly partnered with Buckets and Borders to help revitalize the basketball court at Britannia Secondary. With a $20,000 contribution, the VFC helped rejuvenate the playing surface, install world-class backboards, and create a beautiful, inspiring space for youth in the Grandview-Woodlands neighborhood. This new court now gives kids a place to connect, play, and compete.
Buckets and Borders’ vision of empowering youth through access to sport aligns perfectly with Sports For Kids’ mission of breaking down barriers to participation. With the VFC’s longstanding ties to Britannia Secondary, joining forces to support this project was an easy choice.
Importantly, Britannia students were actively involved throughout the project, including showcasing their Britannia Bruin proudly at center court. This project is another example of the VFC’s grassroots support; investing in kids, spaces, and resources that are truly the heartbeat of our community.
